WIAW: The Start of Christmas

by Brittany on December 18, 2013

Happy What I Ate Wednesday!

This week is a true “hump” day for me since we work Friday this week.

Who’s ready for some time off at Christmas?? *raises hand*

We are trying to clean out the fridge with our eats this week so we have plenty of room for holiday stuff.

Breakfast:

I’m back to smoothies.

It’s weird.  Even though it is SUPER cold out here, all my tummy wants is a smoothie.

Lunch:

Today was my work’s Christmas party.  Our awesome boss took us out to eat at Sake Blue for hibachi and sushi.

They were awesome to accommodate my GF and dairy free diet!

I got salmon, vegetables, and steamed rice.

Seriously, I have an awesome boss!  She spoils us pretty rotten.

Snack:

I ate a ton of baby carrots while making dinner last night.

Dinner:

Leftover pasta and spaghetti squash with our Almost Homemade Pasta Sauce and Tera’s Turkey Meatballs.

Luvy loved it.

Snack:

For the past 2 nights, Luvy and I have been drinking kombucha at night.  I think it is helping to settle my tummy before bed.

What have you been eating here lately?

Anyone else have work Christmas parties?

What’s on your Christmas menu??

We’re in that same mode right now – eat up all perishables before leaving town for Christmas! The closer we get to our traveling date, the more interesting our meals become :)

I’ve been LOVING smoothies too! I’m more about having them for lunch than breakfast lately though. I did have one for dinner the other day…I didn’t really feel like making myself anything else and figured at least I could pack a bunch of nutrients in to a small space and get my feeling better!

I have been enjoying smoothies too even though it is so cold! Usually I eat them while wrapped in a blanket, ha!

So.many.cookies! With all the holiday baking and recipe testing that I’ve been doing, I have to admit that I’ve been seeing more than my fair share of sweet treats… But I guess ’tis the season, right?

Your dinner looks AMAZING! I love spaghetti squash with turkey meatballs and extra veg power. I have Friday off so I guess that my humpday took place at some point late yesterday maybe?

Weird! I am totally craving a smoothie too and it is way to cold. This season my eating has been more off, that is probably why. :)

Your meals look awesome! I bought a spaghetti squash the other day and we’re having it for dinner tomorrow night. Its such an awesome alternative to pasta, and I love that I can have seconds without the guilt.

Spaghetti squash is awesome!! :) It is def guilt free.. unless you are like me and are turning orange from all the squash you eat this time of year. ;)

I just finished a blueberry smoothie for breakfast! So tasty! But it is summer here! I love japanese! Actually it would probably be good for you as they don’t use a lo of gluten or dairy!!! :)

My tastebuds are weird this week too!! In revolt of the normal Christmas themed flavors (gingerbread…nutmeg…other normal things), I’m craving curry!!!

That salmon looks awesome! It always hits the spot!!

I’m with you on the smoothie in cold weather thing- I actually crave them in Winter over Summer…weird. Stoked to hear your experience at this restaurant was better than your usual one! On the Christmas menu is often alot of seafood and Summery salads here- the joys of Christmas in Summer!
