Thank y’all so much for all your birthday wishes yesterday!
It was such a great day!
In case you all haven’t noticed, Baby D has 2 teeth!
He cut the first one the day after he turned 5 months old, and the second one came in the next day.
He wasn’t really that fussy before he cut them, it was after they broke through that he had more pain with them.
I know every child is different, but here are the big things that helped us.
Cold things for him to chew on.
We didn’t have the teether toys that you put in the freezer, so sometimes I would stick his paci in the freezer and then give it to him cold. He loved that.
Always have something handy for him to chew on.
Before teething, he didn’t really chew on everything. Now, I make sure to always have something for him to chew on.
Rub his gums.
I would take a cold wash cloth, his paci, or sometimes just my finger and run his gums. Be careful though…those little teeth are sharp!
Keep him busy.
We would play with him and distract him. This helped him to (temporarily) forget about his teeth.
Seriously, this helped more than anything. I wasn’t really a believer in essential oils until recently.
I mixed Thieves oil with coconut oil and rubbed it on his gums. It almost seemed like instant relief for him.
We have been using the oils for everything now, especially on acne!!
Of course, nothing cured all his little cries, but we made it through.
Now, I love those little teeth. I can’t wait to brush ’em… and teach him how to floss!!
That’s the dental hygienist coming out! 😉
Moms- what helped you with teething?
Have you ever used essential oils?
Would you like to know more about how I use oils?
