One thing about my kid, he’s always hungry. If he isn’t ready for his ‘nack, he will be soon, and at the most inopportune time. I’m always in need of great toddler friendly snacks for on the go!
So, I always carry ‘nacks with me. After traveling this weekend, I realized how important on the go snacks are. Nothing like a hangry 2 year old yelling for food when there is no place to stop…
Here are my favorite ‘nacks to give Baby D while on the go:
This is an entire food group at our house. This kid is crazy over his ray-ray.
2. Fig Bars
They even have gluten free bars so I can enjoy them too!
Grapes, oranges, apples, bananas, etc.
Raw almonds cut in half are his favorite.
I love giving him this because it is gluten free, made with bean flour, and not super sugary!
6. Apple sauce and other fruit pouches.
I have a bunch of Musselman applesauce pouches, but I’m looking into buying reusable pouches.
I get gluten free pretzels and serve when with is raisins or dipped in peanut butter.
8. Raw carrots and hummus
Let’s be honest… he mainly just eats the hummus. Might as well just give him the spoon.
On long trips, I throw cheese in the cooler to keep it fresh. He loves it!
I have an air popper, so I just pop it and store it in an airtight container. Trader Joe’s also has bags of pre-popped popcorn too!
For myself, I eat these and I also love Vega snack bars and when I’m really hangry I’ll drink a Vega One Protein Shake.
