I don’t know about you all, but the holidays always come with a bit of anxiety for me.
Not because of the travel or anything like that. It’s the food.
I have so many food allergies and so many intolerances that I always feel singled out and embarrassed. I always feel like people look at me like I’m an idiot because I can’t have the sweet potato casserole or whatever. It leaves me anxious and dreading the meal part of the holidays.
Last night, I had a total meltdown to Luvy about it. Poor guy…. 😉
I have an extremely loving and understanding family, so I don’t know why I get so anxious. Just because I feel judged doesn’t mean that I am judged. Ya know? Twisted little mind of mine…
I think I’m just being overly dramatic because my heart is hurting over the fact my baby brother won’t be at Thanksgiving this year. Actually, all of our family traditions are going out the window this year. I guess it is a part of growing up!
Anywho, lots of my favorite dishes that I love I can’t have this year due to trying to settle my tummy. However, that doesn’t mean that you all can’t enjoy them! I have rounded up my absolute favorite Thanksgiving recipes that I like to make to share with you all today! I’ll be making some of these this year myself.
Some of these recipes will have to be adapted to be gluten free or vegan if you so prefer.
Gina’s Cranberry Quinoa Stuffing
Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts (I will be subbing butternut squash this year!)
Mama Pea’s Corn and Millet Pudding (my daddy’s favorite!)
Karina’s Gluten Free Pumpin Pie
Danielle’s Grain Free Apple Pie
We have 3 Thanksgiving meals to eat, so I’m well fed over the holiday weekend. Plus, there is always amazing leftovers to be eaten!
Does it bother you when traditions get messed up?
