To say Refresh Summit 2016 was awesome is an understatement. Maybe that’s why it has taken me an extra week to get my post up about it??
Or, maybe I’m still trying to recover from the fun and lack of sleep? 😉 I’m not getting any younger you know…
This year, our theme was HOME. Finding your home in Christ and who you are in Christ. Before the Summit, we all read the book Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst together. Amazing!
If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.
This is our third year at Deer Run in Tennessee for Refresh Summit, and the third year that I’ve had the privilege of helping host Refresh.
Each year, I go back thinking that I’m there to serve and that I’m not planning on getting anything out of Refresh. My main priority is for the ladies there to enjoy and get “refreshed”.
While serving these ladies, I get refreshed and restored myself. Honestly, I think they are more of a blessing to me than I am to them! I absolutely love meeting new ladies and reconnecting again with returning friends.
Refresh Summit really does turn into a family and a home away from home. It is a safe place.
Yes, we worship…
We eat awesome food…
(and I’m totally NOT crafty!)
and we have country/ western Zumba night.
Most importantly, we connect and we grow together as sisters in Christ.
If you are ever looking for a weekend to just be with friends, away from the stresses of the world, eat awesome food prepared for you, workout some, worship and study God’s word, and connect with other women striving to know Jesus deeper, Refresh Summit is for you!
I am blessed by these ladies who all worked so hard on this year’s summit and so thankful that God brought amazing women to this year’s Summit.
I am absolutely certain that they blessed us more than we blessed them.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
