Happy Marvelous In My Monday!
This weekend flew by didn’t it?? Who is ready to tackle this week?
I have a fresh new haircut to start out my week.
I told you all on Friday that I am terrified of getting my hair cut. Having curly hair is tough, because it is easily messed up.
They cut just a little bit too much off, and you all of a sudden have a fro. At least I do. The shorter it gets, the curlier…. and it is curly enough!! :)
The stylist that usually does my hair, Jill, is also the owner of the salon, J Michael’s. She was already booked for Friday, but Patty could see me. Patty specializes in curly hair, so I was a bit excited but super nervous.
I got there and Patty went over everything she was going to do, and her confidence in her work made me immediately comfortable. She gently brushed out my curls and took me to the color bar where they put on color.
Nice huh?? I would have been the coolest girl ever in the 80′s.
She put the highlights and low lights in my hair and I processed. That is what takes forever on getting my hair cut! It is also my least favorite part. I hate sitting there for 45min to 1 hour to “process”. haha… I’m so impatient!
Next came my shampoo and scalp massage. I could let her do that every day. It was marvelous. Plus the shampoo they use is gluten free!! (So is the color)
Now for my scary part… the cut. She put in longer layers to help my curls lay better. It turned out great! She did a fantastic job.
If anyone needs a good hair cut in Louisville, go to J Michael’s. After my last visit, I’m convinced that they are all fantastic stylists! I’m getting over my fear of getting my hair cut because of them! I have only seen Jill and Patty, but everyone else there is super nice and all their clients looked amazing when they left.
I saw plenty of them come and go… I was there for 3 hours! The marvelous joys of having long curly hair. :)
This is how my hair looked when I got home and fixed it myself.
It never looks good when I leave the salon I don’t think. I think it is just because it is so different than how I fix it!
A good haircut just makes you feel so much more confident and marvelous. Don’t you agree?
Other than that, our weekend consisted of cleaning the house, Luvy writing, me working on continuing education courses, and church.
I broke out my cowgirl boots for church!

LOVE the cut! I got my hair cut a couple weeks ago and it wasn’t that great but it was good enough (it had been WAY too long) and only cost me $18. But now I definitely need to seek out a good color place because there are just too many grays showing….

Love the haircut! I have curly hair too and never love how it looks after I leave the salon but once I fix it it’s usually better! must be the curls
Def. the curls!! I think it is hard for someone else to style curly hair. Plus it never helps that they comb it so straight… ya know?
You’re so cute! I love all of your curls! My hair is stick straight – even when I curl it, it takes gobs of hair spray to get them to stay put!

I AM THE SAME WAY, with curly hair you can get a bad haircut so I get super nervous when I have to get my hair cut. I feel ya but yours looks beautiful!

Your hair looks gorgeous. Not until I saw how you styled it could I see the difference and I love it. My hair is totally straight. I used to envy the girls with curls, but as I have gotten older I know a lot more about what is involved in keeping the hair under control!

I loveee your haircut, and I LOVEE your curly hair!! I always have to come home and style my own hair after getting it cut before deciding on whether I like it or not. A good hair cut is like gold!

Oh, your hair is so beautiful! The highlights look great as well – something I’ve always wanted to try! I used to have curly/wavy hair (though not as curly as yours) and it has become more and more straights as I’ve gotten older. Very strange!

I agree! They can never style my hair the right way at the salon. Especially my bangs! I’m so picky about those haha.

Your hair looks gorgeous! Curly hair is definitely tougher. My sister has pretty curly hair as well, so I know for her getting her hair done was always tough. Except now she’s a hairdresser, so I guess she can deal with it better:) ha ha. I spent a wonderful night out, which was a ton of fun! That’s about it though.

Your hair and overall you look INCREDIBLE! Your curls are so beautiful and your hairdresser is way talented. I LOVE your outfit! I want cowboy boots. I feel like living in New England if I wore them I’d be judged haha but then again, I should not care. Wearing a denim jacket with dresses is something I need to do more often!
