Y’all know I have been on a salad craze lately. It is all that my body wants this summer. Maybe for the high water content and it is a cool meal?
Last week, I gave you some ideas to spice up your salad. Some of you wanted to know my homemade dressings that I use.
Your wish is my command. 🙂
For vegetable salads or my “dump everything in” salads, I use a more savory dressing.
Brittany’s Everyday Dressing
- 1 Tbsp Ume Plum Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Stone Ground Mustard
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 2-4 Tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Dill
Add all ingredients into empty bottle. Shake well.
(I’m super cool and use an almost empty mustard bottle! Going green?)
I recommend starting with 2 Tbsp water and adding as needed. I use 3-4 Tbsp because I don’t want mine as salty tasting. The vinegar gives a bit of a punch.
I use this to top my salads and always add an extra bit of mustard as well!
You can’t have enough mustard or ketchup on anything. 😉
Brittany’s Fruit Salad Dressing
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Olive Oil
- Honey (optional)
These I don’t measure. I just make this in a bowl every time I make a fruit salad, which isn’t too often anymore.
Add equal amounts of balsamic vinegar and olive oil into a bowl, sprinkle in the cinnamon and stir. If your fruits are too sweet, you may want to add a drizzle of honey.
I like the sweet/ tart mix, so a rarely add in the honey.
Do you make homemade salad dressings?
Do you like sweet or savory dressings better?
