Long time no check in!
Sorry friends! Let me catch up up on weeks 14-16 then in no time I’ll be giving you my weeks 17-19. I’m half way through my 18th week already!
I am not a tall girl, and I don’t have a long torso. This baby is growing OUT.
Week 16.5 (I’m terrible at taking weekly pictures!)
How far along? For this recap we are covering weeks 14-16
Baby’s size? Lemon (week 14), Orange (week 15), Avocado (week 16)
Total weight gain/ loss? My throwing up took a step up. At week 14, I was down 5 pounds.
Sleep: Full on insomnia now. I go to bed tired, but as soon as I lay down I’m awake! Lol. I’ve been reading lots of books!
Best moment this week: Getting my Zofran pump…. I’ll explain below.
Miss anything? My energy and being able to eat normally. Barre!
Maternity clothes? Just a belly band to keep my pants up.
Movement? Not yet!
Food cravings? None. Very few foods are appealing.
Gender: We find out August 10th!!
Symptoms: Sleepy- I nap a lot.
Debilitating nausea and throwing up. My doctor sent me for IV fluids due to being so dehydrated. I have hyperemesis gravidarum which only occurs in .5-2% of all pregnancies. Too bad I don’t play the lottery!
Happy or moody most of the time: Just tired.. I’m sure I have my fair share of cranky moments too. 😉
Looking forward to: The throwing up to calm down or stop!
Fitness update: Still no barre or working out due to feeling dizzy and sick.
Other updates: Since I was continuing to lose weight and throwing up so excessively, we had to intervene. I went and got IV fluids and IV Zofran, but that only boosted me up for a few hours. My doctor set me up to get a Zofran pump. It is a little pump that attaches to a catheter in my belly and gives me a constant stream of Zofran. The Zofran doesn’t take away the nausea, but it does keep me from throwing up. This way, I can keep down what I am able to eat and hopefully start gaining weight back!
This was not the route I planned, but I’m just thankful for a healthy baby at this point!
